Roots of Seurakunta Laupias Jumala

The Lord Jesus Christ founded the Church Merciful God Finland on 1.08.2004 through Pastor Tuomas Harri and his wife. He was sent from the community 'GBG' - (Merciful God Church Germany) to Finland.

The Merciful God Church is an international Christian church, which operates in Finland; Turku, Helsinki and Tampere. Our focus is on the full proclamation of the gospel. We try to teach our church members to become Jesus' disciples. We want our activities to follow the New Testament model, and allow God to act in our church as the Bible leaves. We believe that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that He is the world's savior and healer.

The Merciful God Church dates back to the Assemblies of God in Central Africa. (esp. in the Democratic Republic of the Congo). The church's founder and apostle Adini-Abala, Alexander (1927-97) came to faith through the world renowned evangelist TL. Osborn in Kenya in the late 1950. Adini-Abala preached in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania, in the cities and in the end his native country Congo.
The congregation quickly spread in Central Africa and a number of healings and miracles of the church began to be called "Nzambe malamut" - God is good, from which the name of our church around the world have been derived. God of mercy (Nzambe malamut) - The churches are African missionaries now and are also spreading to Europe and the rest of the world.
The official name of our church in Africa is the PEFA "The Pentecostal Evangelical Fellowship in Africa", i.e the Evangelical Pentecostal Church in Africa. The Church God of mercy currently operates in nine European countries: Germany, France, England, Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Portugal and Finland.

 Who we are

We are a comunity of the good news of Jesus Christ . We believe in the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit- The creator of Heaven and earth.

Our only foundation is Jesus Christ the living son of God the bible talks about. It is the original word of God the Holy Spirit is promised to us. On the day of Pentecost this promise was fulfilled. The first church was established through the coming of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit continues the work Jesus Christ began in the world. Through Him Jesus Christ put His ministry in us. The early church is our example since the same Holy Spirit guides us ( see Acts 13:2,3).

As Jesus told us we preach His gospel to all people, for all nations and languages. That they may believe in Jesus Christ and be saved. Through healings, signs and wonders in the name of Jesus we receive solutions and blessings. For this no water, oil, or falling etc. is needed. The word of Jesus is sufficient.

Our Goals

God has said that he wants all men to be saved and come to knowledge of the truth (see 1 Timothy 2: 4.). It is our first goal, to preach to as many people as possible the gospel and to win them to Jesus Christ. He will save, heal, liberate and add them with their wonderful gifts to his community. Therefore, the evangelism on the streets and visits is part of our community life. This results in different cities new home groups, which can evolve by God's help to new communities.

We also aim to teach all believers the full Gospel, so that they are able to grow in faith and use their gifts to the Lord. We are also much involved in the training of our church leaders and employees.
Jesus calls sinners, not the righteous. Its also
our goal to give pastoral care, prayer for healing and deliverance  (see Matt. 9:13 b). As in the first church we want to stand together as a real family in the love of Jesus and help the needy wholeheartedly. This Christian Community and Charity, is also one of our goals.
Because Jesus said, Let the little children come to me, the children and young people are particularly close to the heart of God (see Mark 10: 13-16.). It is to the services or activities for the adults always children's program for different age groups offered in parallel. There are also special youth activities (eg theater and music workshops, National Youth Day with a concert, etc.).
The Lord is pleased when we gave him sing a new song (see Psalm 96: 1.). This is the reason why both praise and worship and choir and orchestra singing is an important role in the SLJ play. For samples and workshops everyone is welcome.
In the future we want more and more the love of Jesus in practical closer to the People. Therefore, it is our vision to engage in projects such projects as the construction of a day care center, a school or a hospital.

There may be some things in our worship, that may seem new in the beginning. Here are some explanations:
Prayer is a conversation between a person and God. During the service, there are times when a person prays for the whole community and also times when we all raise our voices together, to pray for the same concern. Every Friday evening, the municipality has a prayer in which each gives their burdens to the Lord.
One of the components of our worship is worship songs you are a sung prayer. To worship God is to honor Him, praising His holiness and His divine omnipotence.
During worship we celebrate Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who is among us and lives in our hearts. He is worthy to be praised and exalted with our whole heart. We do this by singing, dancing, clapping and cheering (see Psalm. 47: 2-3). Everyone is free to express his joy in a personal way.
In the sermon we hear an interpretation of the Word of God from the Bible. The sermon will be led by the Holy Spirit and is a message for his congregation (see 2 Peter 1:. 20-21; 1 Timothy 4:16). The Word of God leads us to repentance, sanctifies us in the eyes of God and strengthens our faith (s. Hebrews 4:12). It satisfies all our spiritual and physical needs. The sermon is mostly bilingual in Finnish and a foreign language. Since people of all nationalities are welcome, we strive to offer a suitable translation for everyone.
The tithes and offerings we give voluntarily and with joy as the Bible teaches. This enables us to support the service of God and be blessed (see Malachi 3: 6-10; Matthew 23:23; 2 Cor. 9: 7).
There is also time to give the individual testimonies or sing songs to the glory of Jesus. In addition, the choir and the orchestra sing.
